Wilfred:2088 (February 2018 - MAGS Winner!)
It's the future, and a transport spaceship's A.I. wakes to find everyone on-board unconscious. She can't do much as the computer, but luckily she finds she's not alone.
----------------------------------
This is an entry into the AGS monthly contest (MAGS), where a game must be completed in a month. This month's theme was "Mix and Match". I chose the three options of "Sci-Fi, In the Future, and Spaceship".
I've been unimpressed with my art in the last few games, so I decided to practice some pixel work. I spent about a month of weekends doing a pixel art course, and practicing some pieces. I decided to use the February MAGS to try out my new skills, albeit very beginner.
The theme options were broad, and yes, I went with the very unoriginal trio of Sci-Fi, Future, and Spaceship. Once again my first idea was not to create a traditional adventure game (I don't know why I keep doing this). Instead I wanted to make a game where you are a ships computer, and you can switch from room to room, via security cameras. You also have other various controls.
The art took me so long, I realized I would never finish without cutting out ALOT. So my multiple room game, became a one-room game. Not as great, but at least I finished! And I was able to fit in music, sound, and voice. Overall I'm much happier with the graphics I ended up with. It still needs a lot of work, but it's hands down my best so far. 10 Ways From Sunday (August 2017 - MAGS Winner!)
Debra needs God's help and gets his attention the only way she knows how... by breaking the rules. All 10 of them.

This is an entry into the AGS monthly contest (MAGS), where a game must be completed in a month, with all original content (except sound effects and music can be reused from other sources).
This month's theme was 'The Bible'.
This month I used the AGS engine the way it's supposed to be used, in all it's glorious adventure game glory! In The 4th Wall, I did some fancy coding stuff, but I wanted to do a bigger, more complete game, so I stuck to the tool's strengths. I'm really happy with the results. I liked the premise of having to break all the commandments, but it was tough writing a simple story explaining why someone would do this. I had to record ALL my voice work (~250 lines), in under 2 hours. It sucked! But, I did get it done just before the contest ended.

The 4th Wall (February 2014 - MAGS WINNER!)
An adventure game character has a spiritual epiphany, and the player is his God. The 4th wall has been broken.

This month's theme was 'Fictional Spirituality'.
I used this opportunity to practice a simpler graphics style, animations, and voice work. I don't know if you can call this a 'game' per se, but I think it's short but entertaining just the same.

PINK SKY (January 2014)
Pink sky is an adventure/puzzle game. You are hired to travel to the martian moon Phobos. There you have to figure out Martian technology and traverse the moon's surface. Ultimately, you are hired to get the ice forge running. But perhaps there is more going on than you realized.
---------------------------------------
This is the first game I made using AGS (Adventure Game Studio). It was for their monthly contest (MAGS), where you use the AGS engine to build an original game in only a month, following a particular theme. Everything must be new, except for music and sound, which can come from other sources. This month's theme was "Something Cold, something Burrowed, something Pink."
I didn't end up winning, but it was very fun to make, and I am proud of the finished product. And I just might make a sequel.

FOOTSOLDIER (May 2009)
Footsoldier is a board game you play against the computer. You need to steal the enemy's plans using Footsoldiers, a Medic and a Radio Engineer. Once stolen, you hightail it back to your Helipad. Points are awarded for certain actions, and the player with the most points at the end of gameplay wins.
---------------------------------------
This is the first game I made using C++ and the Allegro (4.1) game library. I made up the game on the fly, to learn Allegro. It was the first time I created graphics, which I did using Gimp. I found it quite challenging. And I coded with Dev-C++ and the Mingw compiler.
I learned a lot about Allegro in the process. But what I mostly learned was how difficult it was to make a game that looked good. This is a BIG reason why I like game engines. They allow me to focus more on creating great game balance, strategy, and story.
